The newly released International Comparative Legal Guide – Renewable Energy 2026 features a dedicated Romania chapter authored by our colleagues Cristina Gavrilă, Andreea Cărăgui and Alexandru Pruteanu.
This updated edition highlights Romania’s ambitious renewable targets – at least 38.3% of total energy consumption by 2030 – and explores the rapid growth of solar energy, the rise of prosumers, and new support schemes such as Contracts for Difference (CfD). The chapter also details the comprehensive legal framework for generation, transmission, and storage, and examines financing trends, green hydrogen developments, and recent legislative updates shaping the sector.
We are proud that our team contributed again to this key international publication, following our involvement in last year’s edition.
